Save the Date – Juneteenth Celebration

June 20, 2026 Join us as we celebrate Juneteenth, the historic day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, culture, and contributions of the African Diaspora. This special community event will bring families together for a vibrant celebration of freedom through music, food, art, and culture. We are currently seeking vendors, food trucks, and Black artists who would like to display their artwork as part of this cultural celebration. 🎓 Cherokee County NAACP STEM Scholarship 2025 Recipients 

Our most recent award recipients, 10 Cherokee County School District seniors, received laptop computers that were funded by Andrew Fede, Esq. and Mr. Darryl Armstrong (Atlanta Brand Central, LLC). The laptop computers were presented to each finalist at Cherokee County NAACP’s Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. 

🛑 The Civil Rights Act of 1964 Under Attack

The Supreme Court is reviewing core protections of the Civil Rights Act—especially those that guard against discrimination in jobs, housing, schools, and public spaces. If weakened, the very laws that ensure fairness and equality could be rolled back, leaving Black communities and other marginalized groups more vulnerable.

The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has a long-standing commitment to combating discrimination in all its forms. Discrimination refers to the unjust or prejudicial treatment of individuals based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The NAACP works to address complaints of discrimination by providing support, legal resources, and advocacy for those affected. Through local branches and national efforts, the organization investigates claims, works to mediate resolutions, and, when necessary, pursues legal action to challenge systemic injustices and uphold civil rights.
