Cherokee County NAACP STEM Scholarship Program
Eight Cherokee County School District (CCSD) graduating seniors were awarded laptop
computers as part of the Cherokee County NAACP STEM Scholarship Program. The program
was developed to provide resources to students living in Cherokee County who wish to pursue
college or career readiness programs beyond high school.
This year’s scholarships were funded via a grant sponsored by OxBlue Foundation. The
scholarships were in the form of laptop computers and awarded to CCSD graduating seniors who
plan to pursue post-secondary education in STEM-related fields.
Finalists were selected from a pool of applicants based on their academic performance, character,
educational and career goals, and interviews. The laptop computers were presented to each
finalist at Cherokee County NAACP’s 2nd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet, held on November
11, 2023, at Victory Hall at The Buzz, in Canton, GA.
We encourage the financial support of corporations, companies, families, private trusts, and
individuals wishing to join us in this initiative to honor and assist those who are the future of the
Cherokee County community.
Please contact us if you have any questions about the NAACP's work to assist students living in
Cherokee County.
